Status of Tacit Theories
What is the status of tacit theories in the TSC? Is it possible for a community to claim they do not accept a given theory, when they actually do?
Whether or not explicitly accepted theories comprise the entire scope of scientific knowledge within a given community, bears significant importance to the scientonomic community. Determining the status of tacit theories, a theory of scientific change describes how a community could claim acceptance of one theory, while in actuality they accept the propositions of another.
In the scientonomic context, this question was first formulated by Jacqueline Sereda in 2016. The question is currently accepted as a legitimate topic for discussion by Scientonomy community.
