Under which conditions do the patterns of scientific change emerge and hold?
Even with the possibility of a TSC acknowledged, we must visit the topic of what gives rise to the TSC. It is accepted that TSC is applicable to epistemic communities which fulfill certain preconditions. The preconditions may range from communal conditions like consensus to more complex forms with interaction such as relative stability, and autonomy from the regime. Among possible conditions, we should determine those necessary versus those that emerge contingently. The necessary conditions in turn will determine which changes in communal beliefs will scientonomy apply to affecting the scope of scientonomy.
In the scientonomic context, this question was first formulated by Sinan Karamehmetoglu in 2018. The question is currently accepted as a legitimate topic for discussion by Scientonomy community.
In Scientonomy, the accepted answer to the question is:
- Scientonomy is possible because the process of scientific change exhibits lawful general regularities.
