|Question=Is it conceivable that, in light of following the rejection of a method, the that any theories which satisfied its requirements also would become rejected, seeing as how the reasons for belief in them no longer hold (in the eyes of the community)?
|Topic Type=Descriptive
|Description=What When a method is replaced, what happens to the theories immediately after that became accepted due to it? What does a method is replacedcommunity do with these theories? Before Do they are remain accepted in virtue of ? Are they assessed by another method, what do we do with those theories?
Immediately after After the replacement of an old method with a methodnew one, theories which are not determined to be (in)compatible with that became accepted under the rejected method may suffer a status displacement. These Scientonomy currently recognizes three status categories for theories , having to do not share any of the three possible statuses with pursuit, use, and acceptance. How do such theories relate to these categories? Do we have currently outlined in scientonomy. need to formulate a new category to encompass them? For example, when a new method of drug acceptance is employed in the pharmaceutical community, we do not abstain from old medicines before they are tested to comply with this new method; something is left to be desired here? Such questions require further investigation.
