Demarcation Criteria
What is demarcation criteria? How should it be defined?
Before a community can accept a given theory, it must be assessed by the method at the time. The definition of method suggests that it can consist of different criteria for theory assessment. The community in question must properly define demarcation criteria to determine whether the theory in question is scientific or unscientific. If the theory is determined to be scientific, the community will proceed in assessing the theory in question with acceptability criteria and ultimately compatibility criteria. 1
