Before coming to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, she held a Wellcome Research Fellowship at the at the Department of History and Philosophy of Science in Cambridge, UK as well as postdoctoral fellowships at the Dibner Institute for the History of Science and Technology at M.I.T. (Cambridge, Mass.) and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (Berlin, Germany). She was a member of the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton, NJ) and of the National Humanities Center (Research Triangle Park, NC).
